Internet Funeral Company Highlights New Way to Make Arrangements with Television Commercial

Basic Funerals and Cremation Choices is once again shaking up industry norms with its new television commercial pitting online versus old school.

In the 30-second spot, it's 'traditional' versus Basic Funerals and Cremation Choices - with the Internet funeral company presenting the many reasons for arranging online. The first of its kind for the Canadian funeral industry, this unique approach puts a lighter spin on a gloomy topic, introducing a new way to look at funerals.

Basic Funerals and Cremation Choices is Canada's first Internet funeral service company, making it easier for Canadian families to arrange funerals from the comfort of their homes.

Licensed in May, 2009, Basic Funerals, www.basicfunerals.ca, charges fees that are roughly half of those charged by traditional funeral homes. The company is based on an entirely different and unique business model, omitting infrastructure costs and utilizing economies of scale.

"We have always been on the cutting edge when it comes to providing services and delivering our message to the public, and we hope the commercial makes it easier for people to talk about funerals," explained Dominic Mazzone, Chairman, Basic Funerals and Cremation Choices.

According to Eric Vandermeersch, CEO, Basic Funerals, "The ease and feel of the commercial really makes sense for our company when you consider that 95% of our families arrange services with us online and over the phone, but we're also happy to meet people in their own home." www.basicfunerals.ca features a 'Real Time Chat' option, providing instant access to a conversation with a funeral director.

The commercials air across Canada on Sun TV and in Ontario on Global Television, starting immediately.
